Most recently, Louis starred as Mark Antony in Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s Cleopatra & Antony at fortyfivedownstairs, earning strong critical acclaim. Earlier in 2026, he played De Guiche in Martin Crimp’s Cyrano de Bergerac for Artefact Theatre Company, also at fortyfivedownstairs. He returns to Sydney’s Hayes Theatre later in the year for The Rink, directed by Miranda Middleton.

For more than two decades, Louis has moved between plays, musicals and screen work, with a career that’s taken him from Shakespeare to Sondheim, HBO to the Sydney Opera House.

He played Leo Frank in the Australian professional premiere of Jason Robert Brown’s Parade, earning a TheatrePro Best Actor nomination, and Eddie Birdlace in the Australian premiere of Pasek & Paul’s Dogfight at the Hayes Theatre. Other leading and featured roles include Roger Davis in Rent at QPAC, Giuseppe Zangara in Assassins at the Sydney Opera House and Harry Houdini in the Australian premiere of Ragtime for The Production Company.

Louis was part of the world premiere cast of Muriel’s Wedding The Musical at Sydney Theatre Company, appeared in the 50th anniversary production of Hair at the Sydney Opera House and on national tour, and toured Australia in Jersey Boys, frequently appearing as Tommy DeVito. His other stage credits include Jesus Chris Superstar, The History Boys, Wicked, The Rocky Horror Show, Guys and Dolls, Pippin, The Last Five Years and West Side Story.

On screen, Louis has appeared in HBO’s The Pacific, Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries for Acorn TV, Neighbours, Whatever Happened To That Guy? and the feature film Spirit of the Game.

He’s also a singer and multi-instrumentalist, and the creator of Jim Morrison: Kaleidoscope — a one-man show built around the music and mythology of The Doors. With Louis at the piano, Kaleidoscope has played sell-out seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Ballarat.
