Fifty years ago, HAIR opened at the Metro Theatre in Kings Cross to rave reviews and extensive controversy. The show also launched the careers of stars such as Reg Livermore, John Waters and Marcia Hines. Now a new production of this revolutionary rock musical is set to set theatres ablaze across Australia.
Four-time Logie winner Hugh Sheridan (Packed to the Rafters) and pop star turned musical-theatre performer Paulini (Saturday Night Fever) will step into the roles of Berger and Dionne in this new production. They will be joined by Prinnie Stevens (The Bodyguard) as Sheila, Matthew Manahan (Brigadoon) as Claude, Angelique Cassimatis (Mack & Mabel) as Jeanie, Harris M. Turner (Australian Debut) as Hud, Stefanie Caccamo (Beautiful) as Crissy, Callan Purcell (Jasper Jones) as Woof, Emma Hawthorne (Mamma Mia!), Luke Jarvis (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), Joe Kalou (Jesus Christ Superstar), Julian Kou (American Psycho), Louis Lucente (Jersey Boys, Assassins), Sun Park (The Boy From Oz) and Monique Sallé (A Chorus Line).
